Estate Agent, Savills, predicts the Northwest property market will outperform the rest of the country over the next five years.
While prices have risen by 20%, property in the northwest is still affordable allowing first time buyers onto the ladder and keeping the property market moving.
The cost of moving is cheaper than other parts of the country too. The average stamp-duty bill is around £3,000, and solicitors’ fees for conveyancing is between £400 and £500 depending on location.
A great place to live
Weather aside, the northwest is a great place to live with the vibrant cities of Liverpool and Manchester continuing to benefit from sustained growth.
Liverpool, already a hotspot for film and TV production, is rumoured to be the new base for Channel 4. A move that could see the same upsurge in property prices that Salford saw following the BBC’s move to the North.
For those looking for a quieter pace of life, Southport is an ideal compromise. With excellent transport links into Liverpool and Manchester, Southport also offers an array of restaurants, theatres and sports facilities of its own.
The northwest is on the up so bag a bargain while you can.
